PEARLESCENCE SPRING/SUMMER 08
Pearl and powder-coated shades of grey and ethereal pastel tones - crystal, eau de nil, opaline, oyster, pearl and quartz are lightly dusted with metallics bringing a jewel-like lustre to a delicate muted palette. The finest cashmere is knitted with shimmer yarns to form a highly feminine Spring/Summer collection favoured by the luxury traveller. Lightweight button placket vests, deep V-neck cardigans and long line boat neck sweaters are easy to wear.
Detailing including stripes, pretty lurex motifs, mock pockets and mother-of-pearl buttons reflect a relaxed yet dressed holiday mood. A fine gauge scarf, shrug, skinny neck tie, throat warmer and super lightweight woven stole with metallic tipping complete the perfect jet setter wardrobe. The collection is a true showcase for traditional craftsmanship and refined Scottish design. It is designed and made in Scotland at Johnstons two sites - the mill in the Scottish Highlands in the town of Elgin and the factory in the picturesque Borders of Scotland in the mill town of Hawick. With a 210 year old history, Johnstons of Elgin is the UK's last remaining vertical woollen mill, the only one still to carry out all processes from raw material to finished garment.
