Our site at Elgin
When you come to visit our shopping village in Elgin, you can also take a free mill tour and relax in one of our two cafes.
The Mill in Elgin is the only mill in Scotland to transform raw cashmere from fibre to finished article. At our mill you can take a free guided mill tour of the manufacture process and explore our 216 year history in our visitor centre in the beautiful Courtyard setting, adjacent to the Mill Shop. Each season our design team create exciting collections of fabrics, knitwear and accessories for ladies and men as well as for the home. You can find a fantastic range of Johnstons cashmere, lambswool and tweed direct from our flagship mill. Located in the beautiful Scottish Borders, on the banks of the river Teviot, stands Johnstons of Elgin’s Hawick mill. On 26th May 2012 we shall proudly open a state of the art Visitor Centre, Cafe & Retail Store at this site in Hawick. When you visit our site in Hawick you will be able to explore our interpretative centre which showcases multimedia educational exhibits, exploring the craftsmanship behind the process of cashmere manufacture, focusing on the fact that Johnstons of Elgin is the only Scottish, indeed UK, mill to carry out the entire manufacture process from fibre to finished garment.
Each season our design team create exciting collections of fabrics, knitwear and accessories for ladies and men as well as for the home.
