Cashmere.  The finest and softest fibre in existence.  The Mill in Elgin is the only mill in Scotland to transform cashmere from fibre to finished article.    In 2008 we opened a stunning new visitor centre in the beautiful Courtyard setting, adjacent to the Mill Shop.  Each season our design team create exciting collections of fabrics, knitwear and accessories for ladies and men as well as for the home. You can find a fantastic range of Johnstons cashmere, lambswool and tweed direct from our flagship mill and your visit to Johnstons will not be complete without afternoon tea and a freshly made scone from our bright and airy coffee shop.

FREE MILL TOUR
You can take a free guided tour of the entire manufacturing process with one of our Johnstons experienced tour guides. Watch for yourself as the cashmere is dyed, teased, carded, spun and hand finished by the latest generation of Elgin craftsmen.  Our Heritage Centre and Shop in Elgin is open 7 days and Mill Tours are available during factory working hours, please call us on 01343 554088 to confirm availability of tours.

Access
We have wheelchair access to all public areas, this includes the tour of the mills.  We have adapted toilets available in the Main shop and Courtyard.  Guide dogs and other recognized assistance dogs are admitted.
